Lauren Lobaugh MD, MAS, FAAP

Dr. Lauren Lobaugh, M.D., M.A.S., F.A.A.P, is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine. She works as a pediatric anesthesiologist at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas.  In addition to her clinical work, she serves as an expert in healthcare quality and safety.  She is the Associate Chair of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety for her department helping establish robust systems to reduce harm for the more than 60,000 anesthetics performed annually.  She also serves on quality and safety committees for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She has been an active member of the Wake Up Safe Initiative, a group dedicated to identifying and promoting best practices in pediatric anesthesia. Her focus is to better understand perioperative medication errors and to mitigate their harm.
