Randi Trope, DO, MBA, FAAP is a pediatric critical care physician as well as the Vice-Chair for Pediatric Quality & Safety and the Pediatric Medical Director of Patient Safety at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Trope was the Pediatric Medication Safety Officer at Cohen Children’s Medical Center from 2011 to 2019.  In 2015 she became part of the ISMP Guidelines Writing Committee. Dr. Trope has been a member of the advisory board of Bainbridge Health, a medication safety company, since 2017. She is also a member of the advisory committee for the pediatric section of the Standardize 4 Safety (S4S) initiative through the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Most recently she was an advisory board member for the ISMP 2020-2021 Targeted Medication Safety Best Practices for Hospitals.

Dr. Trope earned her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) and completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.  In 2014 she earned her MBA with distinction in Quality Management from Hofstra University and in 2017 received a Certificate in Medication Safety from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
