Dorothy Linvill-Neal joined Novartis in October, 2012, as Global Head, Name Creation & Regulatory Strategy. Prior to joining Novartis, Ms. Linvill-Neal served as Head, Global Trademark Development at Johnson & Johnson. In addition, she served as Head of Global Trademark Development for Pharmacia & Upjohn and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where she began her career. She has over 35 years’ experience in Global Nomenclature Development, Regulatory Strategy & Clearance, Name Safety, and Strategic Planning. She has championed the development and clearance of over 350+ brands. She has been a long standing member of many Industry Trade & Policy groups, such as PhRMA, INTA, and independent groups, such as IMSN, RAPS, and DIA and has presented and contributed to numerous articles, guidance documents, webinars, and related work products impacting drug naming, patient safety, and review. She serves as Trademark/Regulatory Expert to the EFPIA Group that meets regularly with the EMA Name Review Group and as a member of the FDLI Global Committee. She currently serves as Clinical Adjunct Professor, Preceptor at Temple University School of Pharmacy and sponsors both experiential 4th YR Pharm D. rotations and several Post-Doctoral Fellowships including Temple and Purdue University School of Pharmacy. In her free time, Ms. Linvill-Neal enjoys long and mindful walks in the woods enjoying nature, hiking, boating, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren!
