As the Coronavirus pandemic takes us into uncharted and difficult territory, the first priority of the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) is to help frontline healthcare practitioners keep themselves and their patients safe. To that end, ISMP has developed an online resource page with links to vital COVID-19 safety-related information and tools.
The frequently-updated COVID-19 resource page contains articles, webinars, and emerging news from ISMP, ECRI, and other respected organizations that can assist practitioners responding to the rapidly evolving nature of the pandemic. Recent additions include articles on positioning infusion pumps outside COVID-19 patients’ rooms and comments on current challenges from a question and answer session with medication safety officers.
ISMP will continue to provide valuable resources and services with real-time information and input from clinical settings, including more frequent special editions of the ISMP Medication Safety Alert!® Acute Care newsletter that are available for free to the general public here.
