NAN Alert:

  • As we were ready to go to press, a National Alert Network (NAN) release regarding the elimination of dosage cups that measure liquids in fluid drams was issued. As explained in the alert, ISMP has received a report in which two dosing scales (drams and mL) that appear on a plastic oral liquid dosing cup were confused, resulting in a fatality.
