Lexi-Comp notes an error in their publications within the monograph for interferon gamma 1-beta.

Lexi-Comp has noted an error in their publications, including the Drug Information Handbook, within the monograph for interferon gamma 1-beta. This is related to differences between the units used to express the dosage.

The current fields read:

Dosage: If severe reactions occur, modify dose (50% reduction) or therapy should be discontinued until adverse reactions abate.

Chronic granulomatous disease:
Children >1 year and Adults: S.C.: BSA 0.5 m2: 1.5 mcg/kg/dose 3 times/week
BSA >0.5 m2: 50 mcg/m2 (1.5 million int. units/m2) 3 times/week
Severe, malignant osteopetrosis:
Children >1 year: S.C.: BSA 0.5 m2: 1.5 mcg/kg/dose 3 times/week
BSA >0.5 m2: 50 mcg/m2 (1.5 million int. units/m2) 3 times/week

Dosage Forms: Injection: 100 mcg [3 million int. units] per 0.5 mL

This should be replaced by:
