Handbook on Injectable Drugs, 13th Edition

On page 194, in the Y-Site Injection Compatibility Table for bivalirudin, the entry in the rightmost column for prochlorperazine edisylate should be "I," not "C." The information in the "Remarks" column for this drug combination correctly describes the incompatibility, i.e., a gross white precipitate forms immediately if the two drugs are administered simultaneously through the same Y site.

This correction also applies to the current Handbook on Injectable Drugs Interactive CD. When bivalirudin is the first drug and prochlorperazine edisylate is the second, third, fourth, or fifth drug to be mixed, a red X should appear on the screen, indicating that the two drugs are incompatible. A green check mark is incorrect (see screen shot below).
