Textbook and Publication Errata

 

Haloperidol monograph errata from Lexi-Comp

The haloperidol monograph in the 7th edition of the Lexi-Comp Drug Information Handbook for Psychiatry (2nd edition; 2000 page 487) and the Psychotropic Drug Information Handbook (2000 page 137) contains an error. The monograph states :

Under Usal Dosing: Rapid tranquilization of agitation patient (administer every 30-60 minutes)

    Oral: 100 mg
    I.M.: 50 mg
    Average total dose for tranquilization: 300-600 mg

Here is the updated information as it should read.

    Oral: 10 mg
    I.M.: 5 mg
    Average total dose for tranquilization: 30 - 60 mg
